1. *Dorna’s Strategy*: MotoGP wants to be “F1 of 2 wheels”. So they push MotoGP to new markets. More countries = more fans = more money
2. *Netflix/Docuseries Effect*: Like Drive to Survive did for F1. “MotoGP: Unlimited” on Amazon made new fans care about riders’ stories
3. *Cheaper to start than F1*: A talented kid can start with a 150cc bike. F1 needs millions. MotoGP needs thousands
4. *Social Media*: Riders like Marc Marquez, Pecco, and local heroes go viral on TikTok/Reels. Racing clips get 50M+ views

THE RISE IN SOUTHEAST ASIA / INDONESIA Indonesia is ground zero for “local MotoGP” boom

• The Mandalika Effect Since MotoGP came to *Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Lombok* in 2022, everything exploded.  Kids in Lombok, Jakarta, Bandung now dream of being the next “Mario Aji” not just Rossi.
• Local Heroes Rider Class Status Mario Aji** Moto2 First Indonesian full-time Moto2 rider *Veda Ega Pratama** Red Bull Rookies Won Rookies Cup 2024. “The Next Big Thing” *Gerry Salim** ARRC Asia Road Racing Champ. Bridge to MotoGP *Rey Ratukore** Moto3 Talent from Bali

Local Series = Talent Factory*

• *USA*: MotoAmerica is growing again. Trackhouse Aprilia put an American team in MotoGP

WHAT’S DRIVING IT LOCALLY

• *Circuits*: Countries build FIM Grade A tracks. Mandalika, Buriram, Sepang
• *Government Support*: Kemenpora + IMI Indonesia fund riders to race in Europe
• *Brands*: Astra Honda, Yamaha Indonesia, Pertamina pour money into junior programs
• *Community*: Local clubs, track days, 150cc racing is huge in Indonesia. Every weekend ada balap liar legal di sirkuit

THE PROBLEM Rising fast, but the jump from “local champ” to “Moto3” is still $$$. 1 season in Moto3 = Rp15-25 Miliar. That’s why only riders with big sponsors/backing make it. Dorna + IMI are trying to fix this with scholarships.

The Goal*: By 2030, have the first Indonesian on a MotoGP grid. Veda Ega is the best shot right now.
